About This Club

The Hunger Games have come to an end as the popular franchise rests. May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor...
  1. What's new in this club
  2. sort of. She didn't say it in those abrupt clips. She said she would never get to eat dinner out if she didn't give people the evil eye when they start approaching her table, and given how hounded she is by paps and pseudo fans who sell her autograph on ebay, I can completely understand. But I grew up around the studios and we would never think of approaching a celebrity while they were eating. She takes tons of selfies with fans when she is on a promo tour or going to an event. It is situational, if she feels like her privacy is being violated. I've seen pictures of her with sheer terror on her face, tight, face to face with her bodyguard as he tries to maneuver them through a crowd. I've seen clips of those professional autograph seekers pushing over security barriers to get to her, and pap photographs with long lens cameras that are absolutely a violation of her privacy. But, for example, in this last Passengers promo tour, fans took selfies with her all the time, and she backed into them. She was the only celebrity who did that at the golden globes in 2015, and you could hear the crowd saying 'oh my God!' and gasping when she argued with her publicist to go over to them (wearing over a hundred and fifty carats of borrowed diamonds - a site wrote up how the insurer for the jewelry site probably had a heart attack when she did that.) So it is sort of true, if you really are grasping for a headline.

  4. If you were on twitter as a Jen fan you could probably figure it out, but I'm not sure I want to broadcast my internet connections on a message board. Sorry!
  5. It is trending all over the place today. I have no idea why.
  6. That's not a surprise, Brazilian fans are always putting The Hunger Games on WW trending topics.
  7. That is all! Well, actually, someone tweeted that 'The Hanging Tree' is on 15 of the Billboard Top 100. I didn't check.
  8. Catching Fire 10/10 Hunger Games 9.5/10 Mockingjay 6.5/10
  9. The Hunger Games: 10/10 Catching Fire: 10/10 Mockingjay: (upon first reading a couple years ago) 8.5/10, (after rereading it over a couple of years) increased to 9.5/10 Order: Catching Fire> Hunger Games> Mockingjay

More at link: http://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/2016/09/13/Lionsgate-partnering-with-Univision-for-Spanish-language-streaming-video-service/5751473808527/ Good thing for them, too, given how their movie division is doing lately. But is this seriously the first Spanish speaking streaming video service? That seems like a seriously gaping hole in the market.
  11. Thg A- CF A- M1 B+ M2 B+ But I can't separate the fact that I didn't like the last book as much as the first two from how I rate the movies. Strictly speaking, I should only be grading the skill in presenting the stories, but the first two stories I liked better than the third. And NOT because I needed more games, I just came to care for the characters and didn't like where they ended up.
  12. TL;DR You know what would have been cool? A district with no females victors. the Gamemakers would have sent 2 males victors to the Quarter Quell. Or a District with just one victor. the Gamemakers would have done a second reaping with all the people older than 18 yo from there.
