As Godzilla blew past industry expectations with a monstrous $93.2 million domestic bow last weekend, it also established the market's longest drought without a $100 million opener in nearly three years.
Through May 18, it's been 25 weekends since The Hunger Games: Catching Fire reached $158.1 million in November, topping the 24-week gap between Iron Man 3 ($174.1 million) and November 2012's Twilight finale,Breaking Dawn Part 2 ($141.1 million).
