Indian Box Office Thread | Jawan overtakes Pathaan, becomes highest grossing Indian movie of 2023

Recommended Posts

Next 5 weeks look pretty good in terms of potential

- Gabbar is back should get the OD and OW record for 2015

- Piku and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai will cater separately to Multiplexes and single screens

- Bombay Velvet can be big and get the 2015 OW record

- Welcome to Karachi looks like a mass entertainer

- Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a movie I am really looking forward to (loved the first part)

Then a 2-3 week break before "Dil Dhadakne Do"

Tanu weds Manu Returns looks the most promising of all the ones you mentioned. Kangana is an amazing actress. She can do all kinds of roles. Edited by marveldcfox

With very good WOM, Sunday should be atleast 10cr, with wknd being around 25cr.

Shoojit Sarcar is a damn good filmmaker.

Vicky Donor

Madras Cafe

Piku

That is a really good resume. He even turned a non actor John Abraham into a solid lead in MC.

Is it just me or nowadays Bollywood is making really good indie or small budget films. 90% of the big mega budget ones are absolute shit.

The only recent big budget film I liked was Baby.

Watched Piku on Friday. Loved it. Fine work by Amitabh. Deepika and Irrfan are solid. Even the side actors turn in good performances.

Sircar proves that he is an excellent director With Piku. The plot never meanders. The sold out crowd was enjoying the movie to the fullest.

Solid A from me.

This will have great WOM with the multiplex crowd.

That is one of the biggest Saturday jumps for an opener I have seen in a while. Haven't seen it yet, but WOM seems to be pretty great. But it will have to face Bombay Velvet in its second week, so it will be hit hard.

BV has flop written all over it. It might open well, but die quickly after a good opening day.

According to international report, AoU is currently at $15.9m in India. Assuming $1 = INR 63.5, that calculates to 101 crore! So it is the third Hollywood movie of all-time to hit 100 crore mark after Avatar and FF7.

How much did FF7 end with?
