Recommended Posts

Total for AoU revised at 5,835M€ and 776K admissions, 90K more than TA that at the same time was at 676K. Average ticket price is 7,52 vs 8,79. Damn weak 3D.

I think it has a shot at €20m. Friday is a holiday and there´s no competition until Tomorrowland on May, 22nd. But edroger, Zamor and Omni know better than me so let's see what are they thinking.

There is a little bit of competion, I think  ;)

Il Racconto dei Racconti and Youth - La giovinezza. Both are coming from two very popular director in Italy, Matteo Garrone (Gomorra) and Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty).

There is also Mad Max.

And it seems "Il racconto dei racconti" is pretty awaited since it's the first real italian Fantasy since years and years! :)

In past year there has been also "Il Ragazzo Invisibile", a fantasy/superhero movie by the oscar winner director Salvatores. The movie did bad, despite it was a very good idea, due the wrong release date (christmas holidays) and the horrid performance of the young leading actors.

But that movie hadn't the hype that IRDR has right now. A lot of people is talking about this movie. Of course it will never do as much as Avengers. But people seem curious, and the trailer is really good as well! Then, the movie will compete for the Palme d'Or at Cannes. That might help! :)

How did the 1st movie or IM3 do?

The Avengers vs Age Of Ultron

TA first week

D  DM€   TM€

0  0,42

1  2,31   2,73

2  0,66   3,39

3  0,91   4,30

4  1,64   5,94 (holiday for AoU)

5  2,22   8,16

W1   8,16

W2 14,06 (both have one holiday weekday)

W3 16,06

W4 17,07

W5 17,53

T    18,01

Admissions

3D 1.318.090

2D    815.326

T   2.133.416

Average ticket price Euro 8,44 (this could be a problem: 3D is dead, so it's impossible for AoU to repeat this number. With the avg of Fifty Shades or FF7 (about 6,9 euro) and a 3D share of 20%, it will have to sell 300K tickets more to have the same gross of TA1)

IM3 tot 16.086.116 euro - OW 8.576.941 euro - Admissions 855.327 3D / 1.433.470 2D / tot 2.288.797. More admissions than TA but worse 3D share so down in euro.

Tuesday AoU € 522.619 / 82.848 adm. Tot € 9.324.410 / 1.255.654 adm.

The avg ticket price is under 7,5€ in first week, that means zero 3D and a lot of childrens among the moviegoers.
