The Hobbit 3: €0.85m, 110264 admissions

The Hobbit 2: €0.57m, 73518 admissions

The Hobbit 1: €0.64m

Remember it opens a day before the other new movies, so it had weak competition. Today we have the opening of Big Hero 6, Gone Girl and two strong local movie (a comedy and the first italian superhero movie)

Well, The Hobbit 3 stays on Top doing so much better than the sum of the other movies on the Top Ten!!! 

 

Thursday Top 5:

 

1- The Hobbit 3, €0.52m ($0.64m). Cume: €1.37m ($1.7m)

2- il Ricco, il Povero e il Maggiordomo, €0.13m ($0.16m)

3- Big Hero 6, €0.077m ($0.1m)

4- Gone Girl, €0.075m ($0.09m)

5- Un Natale Stupefacente, €0.057m ($0.07m)

 

DOS did €0.62m on its second day of release but it was a Friday (€1.2m during its first 2 days). Il Ricco, il Povero e il Maggiordomo is still doing good numbers and it should have another good weekend but the 2 new italian releases are flopping. Let's see how Big Hero 6 does during the weekend, it's a family movie so it should increase a lot. Gone Girl meh.

I agree it won't be impressive but the holidays will help the total go higher than these numbers suggest.

Next week (Christmas week, usually the biggest of the year at boxoffice here) is much more important to know if holidays movies will be a success or not. Regarding Disney, last year Frozen did a fantastic 11,1M$ full week (gross that alone could put a movie in top ten this year...), while in 2012 WiR gross a so-so 3,9M$.
