(I was too lazy to check the Apes pages) great chart JS! now it will be easier to track/compare curious how the gewara rating will settle & what will be the highest rated of the franchise Edited January 27, 2015 by Lady of Lorien
Olive
And Miss Granny will easily pass 350M yuan, a great success for a low budget movie. Budget shouldn't be more than 20M based on the looks of the movie.

Lihongkim
Hollywood lead China box office 2015, The Hobbit 3 will do 100m+ in its 2nd week. It would be one of top ten movies 2015. Early Feb will fall toThe Hunger Game. The local films wait untill CNY. Biggest movies are Zhong Kui : Snow girl and the dark crystal (Chen Kun & Li Bingbing) 1b+ expect & Jackie Chan movie : Dragon Blade.

That's early to call but I dont think TH3 will be one of 2015's top 10. There are many movies that look could do 1B. For early Feb, Somewhere only We Know (2.10) will easily destroy Hunger Games. A Marvel Fanboy
TH3 is being released during students winter holiday (hence the smaller workday drops) and it wont have Apes 2 weekend increases so the two might not be comparable. Plus Apes 2 third week got that Middle Autumn holiday boost. There is a chance that 2015 top 10 will all do 1B+.
Lihongkim
If all top 10 do 1 B+, the box office target 2015 (6.5B) will be possible?
Lihongkim
Early Friday showtime : Running Man 37% The Hobbit3 24.61% Boonie Beers2 19.72% Unbroken 8%
A Marvel Fanboy
US$ is going stronger so more like $6.3B annual revenue as the target.

A Marvel Fanboy
Top 10 candidates (in order of release; every one of them is possible 1B grosser): Zhong Kui Dragon Blade Furious 7 Age of Ultron Jurassic World Hollywood Adventure MI5 Lost in HK Skiptrace The Ghouls Of course there might be dark horses (The Man from Macau 2, for instance) and some of these above could disappoint. Six local titles + four imports. Both AOU and LiHK are locks for 1B+ while the reat will have to depend on their actual quality. AoU probably will lead the foreign front with LiHK or The Ghouls leading domestic outputs. AoU most likely will get May 4 release, Monday opening. And there is always a chance that the sequel may not live up to hype. If MI5 gets Jul 31th day and date release (unlikely but who knows) and has great quality, it could challenge TA2 (3D/IMAX) as #1 foreign film 2015 even in 2D/IMAX. Top 10 foreign films could be: Age of Ultron MI5 Jurassic World Furious 7 Terminator: Genisys Hobbit 3 Spectre Ant-Man Minions Jupiter Ascending / Cinderella ? Top 10 local films could be: Lost in HK The Ghouls Skiptrace Zhong Kui Dragon Blade Hollywood Adventure The Man from Macau 2 The Golden Monk Tiny Times 4 Death Duel / Jiu She Hui ?
