Transformers & Hobbit will be the only billion dollar grossers imo. I don't understand the interstellar mentions. The only non-3D films to make it to 1 billion in recent years are Skyfall & TDKR, and those were part of huge franchises. Inception had a much more recognizable cast and still couldn't break 900 mil.

Guess we should expect more villain focused movies from disney. Can't wait for the one about how ursula became evil because she was fatshamed by mer-people.

well I did say I was a fan of the first film. It doesn't mean I want to see sequels lol I thought it was a good standalone film.

I'm a huge fan of the first dragon film (I thought it should've won the best animation oscar over TS3 tbh) but I don't really feel any excitement for this sequel either and I'm not exactly sure why.

The dialogue is cringe worthy because it obviously sounds like a middle aged dude wrote it. Teens don't talk like that.

ugh DOR needs to stop monopolizing jlaw. her film choices were so much more interesting before she met him. this will probably get her another oscar nom though.

Fan Bing Bing isn't that well liked though. She's one of those popular actresses that gets a lot of hype for her beauty but I don't really know anyone that checks for her acting wise

just got back from this. I thought it was underwhelming, and I am still not a fan of singer's style (or lack of) things I liked: - all the scenes in the future. the future sentinels were badass - Mcavoy. I've always liked him as an actor and he really excelled in this movie - quicksilver's big scene. I agree with everyone, this was definitely the highlight of the film. His costume and wig still looks dumb but it makes a bit more sense within the context things I didn't like: - the visual aspects. eg the ugly costumes, bland cinematography, fake looking wigs. I should probably be used to it by now but jfc this franchise manages to look extremely cheap despite having such a high budget - way too much exposition going on. a lot of telling rather than showing - mystique & young magneto's motivations. It felt weak to me - some inaccuracies in the time period like that eye scanning thing at the mansion in the 70s? or how strangely futuristic the first sentinels looked. but it's a comic book movie so I didn't let it bother me too much. overall, I'd give it a 8/10. I enjoyed it, it kept me entertained but it's not something I'd rewatch in theaters.

Lana Del Rey was the biggest snub. Young and Beautiful is by far the best soundtrack of this year.

American Hustle will get a lot of backlash on the internet but the general audience will love it. If it wins best pic, it'll be the King's Speech of this year, and the 12yas fans will be the new Social Network stans who will never shut up about how it was robbed of a win.
