  1. yeah, there has to be a mistake. 2,5 m is just too much for us haha. Though I can see it get there for the whole run. Or close to that.
  2. thanks for posting this. That number is absolutely insane for my country (Uruguay). It must be the biggest movie ever here or it's getting close.
  3. thank you! That's awesome!! The most recent hits here like Blended, Wild Tales or How to train your dragon 2 did a little over 700k in their entire runs, this doing 500k in 3 days is absolutely incredible. I'm so happy, the movie deserves it. I hope it passes movies like Despicable me 2 and Monsters Inc that did clase to 1 million.
  4. Biggest opening weekend of all time here in Uruguay. The first estimates were 75,000 tickets sold, but actuals today were higher, it sold 78,500 tickets. Just for comparison, Fifty Shades of Grey was a huge hit and it sold 35,000 tickets during the opening weekend. I saw FF7 on thursday and friday and of course it was sold-out both times. Considering the theater has reserved seating it was pretty amazing, even the front row was full. My students today couldn't stop talking about the movie (they are 13 years old), 90% of them had already seen it. I don't think there's going to be anything bigger than this for a long time here.
  5. In my country CF grossed in 2 weeks the same amount THG grossed in 2 months
  6. Good increases everywhere, I hope it makes it too 500m in the end It's funny to me the difference in the age range of the audience between the premiere and yesterday. At the premiere it was 99% teenagers between 13 - 18 (I felt so out of place haha), and last night it was the other way around, 99% over 20 years old, there were many over 40. I was surprised by that. I didn't think this was a movie that would appeal to adults. But I was even more surprised by the fact that the theater was almost sold out, on a monday... I honestly wasn't expecting it to be such a hit here.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm new here. Just stopped by to let you know how much I'm enjoying this thread, you guys are hilarious. I'm supposed to be studying for an exam I have tomorrow morning but for some reason I can't leave this thread lol I mean, I'm not exactly happy about the numbers for CF but everything else here is awesome. Well, back to lurking...
  8. I'm so proud of my little country. In my city, Montevideo, there were originally 6 showings for tomorrow (at the movie theater that is premiering the movie), but ticket sales were so good that a couple of weeks ago they added 2 more. 5 of them are 90% full, 2 of them at 80% and there's one at 50%. Since it's with reserved seating I doubt any of them will sell out. In fact, there are 2 that are at a little over 90% that have been like that for weeks. Nobody in their right mind is going to pay to be in the front row...
  9. The marketing campaign overseas has been pretty good UK BRAZIL
  10. I just saw this on twitter, it's a pretty big CF billboard in Buenos Aires' main avenue (Argentina).
  11. Thanks! I was really surprised to see how fast tickets are selling. I keep checking everyday and I'm sure there will be a few sellouts (is that the word??) by the premiere date. Our biggest movie theater complex is also organizing some giveaways and stuff like that for the premiere.
  12. Lionsgate must have seen how much the THG's books sales increased since the movie and knew they could do a lot better this time. The spanish group's song better be good because I really like Atlas and was expecting to hear it at the end of the movie.
  13. I'm from Latin America, and I've noticed how much THG's popularity has increased since last year. At least in my country (Uruguay) nobody knew what THG was until the movie came out, and the movie wasn't even that popular. For CF the tickets went on sale 5 days ago and the first few showings have already sold 50% of their seating capacity (it premieres on nov 21 here). It may not be big for other countries but we are a really small country and that is impressive here. You rarely see that kind of expectation for a movie here, and the movie hasn't been advertised anywhere yet. If that's happening here I bet it's even better in other countries.
