  1. It was entertaining! I even liked the newspaper short before it!
  2. I'm a bit suprised by Beauty & the Beast because the 3D version is already on Blu Ray / Dvd, (The Lion King wasn't & it was advertised as for 2 weeks only) but this bolds well for disney's re-releases.Is this a limited release for beauty as well.Good numbers for Joyful Noise & Contraband as well.
  3. I think the problem with Michelle Williams is the profile with her films. She always gives a great performance, but the films fly under the radar. If Blue Valentine had a a bigger awareness, I could have seen her taking the win.Although Marylin has a higher profile than Valentine, it still fits in that "indie box".She needs a bigger studio style film to give her that extra push.Otherwise I see her churning out these performances & getting a nom but being passed over by either "the big star oscar bait of the year" (i.e Sandra Bullock in the Blind Side style roles) or playing second fiddle to other overlooked accalimed actresses (i.e. Viola Davis)
  4. I think it will get a nom, it had positive feedback critically & commercially, but like you said..........there's another female ensemble (that still include female poop jokes) that fits the Academy mode better, Those Bridesmaids will have to settle for a nom at best....(always a bridesmaid.......never the bride)
  5. Yep........and even if it snags a nom it has no chance of winning. It falls into the " new cooler, hipper, we just might nominate mainstream sci fic or comedy films" attitude of the Academy. I think that will backfire as after a few years of this people will catch on to the fact that even if that get one of the final best pic slots, they have no chance of winning.
  6. I like her, but it's interesting that both Michelle and Katie have remained in the public eye long after Dawson (and the entire cast is still working........Pacy is on Fringe!)That's still a good thing for all of them, but Michelle has become the "revered actress" of the bunch, while Katie is "famous"
  7. I liked it, some very good action sequences and overall just a solid pic. It's a summer blockbuster in December!
  8. I like everyones responses !!It goes from one extreme to the next! ("It looks great"........"It looks terrible")
  9. I think you should watch it again, it definately holds up well, especially compared to current "thirll rides" films
  10. I kept thinking she would make a good catwoman.........for a PG-13 action film, it was pretty good. There are some clear holes in the script, but my expectations weren't high. I enjoyed it.
  11. I like the poster, while it can be debated, I just see the tagline as more of "This is the final chapter of this trilogy"............and yeah, I understand it could also be related to bane defeating batman once and for all, but the dark knight rises could refer to "events" after the suggested image on the poster
  12. FYI, for any SAG members, today is the last day to pay your SAG dues ( for Nov) in order to vote this year!
  13. My Fav Spielberg movie (it's werid cause it hardly ever gets mentioned along his other "top" movies)Jaws, ET, Raiders, always get tossed around (all good films), but Jurassic is classic!
  14. This is probably my fav Hitchcock film!
