X-Men: DOFP - Cinemark in Plano, Tx XD/3D showing Trailers: Edge of Tomorrow - This was a great trailer in 3d. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Another good trailer. Movie - This was great in 3d on the huge XD screen. The story and the characters were very good. Quicksilver was awesome! It may have passed X2 as my favorite X-Men movie. This was a great trip to the movies!

My family and I are watching the Olympics opening ceremony right now. Great job, UK!! Such a wonderful production.We loved the part with Peter Pan and Mary Poppins. We are going to watch Finding Neverland on dvd after the opening ceremony.

That's an awesome story. I also clapped at the end of TDKR. I haven't clapped for a movie in years. Not even Inception or TDK. One minute I was about to cry and then at the end I was clapping before I even realized I was doing it.

And The Hunger Games is a superhero movie?

Blindly ignoring the effect of the shooting? Lol. TASM is a superhero movie too. TDKR and TASM were obviously gonna be hit the hardest of all the movies.

I love both movies. The Avengers is light and fun and cool. TDKR feels more real and emotional and powerful.What a great year 2012 is for the box office. I am not going to let a cowardly criminal ruin my love for going to the movies!

I feel the same way. TDKR>TDK, but Ledger's Joker > Hardy's Bane. I like Bale's Wayne/Batman in TDKR over TDK. I also like Hathaway/Gordon-Levitt over Eckhart/Gyllenhaal. I could be happy if TDKR makes $475m domestically. At least it would be ahead of the Star Wars movies diomestically. I think it would be reasonable to say that TDKR would have ended up in the 550m-575m range if not for the shooting, but it's ok if TDK stays at #4 on the domestic list.I think worldwide, which is the bottom line number, TDKR can still get to the #5 spot. That's most likely where it was going to finish anyway. It will just be like 1.15B instead of 1.225B.

Yep. With $800m WW, they'll pocket $100m+. Doesn't matter if some people think it is underperforming domestically. Worldwide is the bottom line number.

I don't remember seeing anyone saying 20% to 25%, but with the glaring drops of Ted and MK, a 10% to 15% overall effect is reasonable to assume. Brave looks like the only movie that escaped a big effect of the shooting.
