Black Widow | July 9 2021 | ScarJo secures the bag from Disney
kitik replied to Kalo's topic in Box Office Discussion
I had actually avoided that trailer for the last few months, so when I saw it in front of New Mutants a few days ago, it was 100% new to me. It played really well on the big screen. -

They did before, so they do now. I guess the rules haven't changed.

If Unhinged can make 4M, then Tenet ought to easily get past 20M in two weeks. Especially if they try to make Friday a 5-day single-day number. (Meaning the showings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday all magically count as part of Friday too.) Hell, there's a chance it'll be at 20 million BEFORE Thursday night previews even start.

Obviously, comparing New Mutants to any older numbers will be useless. However, having NM numbers, so you can compare future releases to NM, should be useful. -

Goonies has been putting up good numbers week after week. Seems like great drive-in double feature material. Dirty Dancing makes an appearance. That might be a part of it. However, it might also be the case that some folks were happy to go see some old classics for a week or three, and are now losing their interest in watching old movies in theaters. -
