There were specific parts of Frozen 2 that I liked very much (Some Things Never Change, Show Yourself), but on the whole the story, although more complex, had much less emotional impact for me. I wanted to love Frozen 2, and saw it more times in the theater than the original, but the ending along with a few other scenes make the movie just so so for me. Example: Lost in the Woods, which should have been a very emotional, heartfelt scene for Kristoff was turned into kind of a joke by making it in the form of an 80's music video.

I couldn't agree with you more regarding the original Frozen. The movie touched me in a way that no other has in a very long time. The first 1/3 of the movie set the relationship between Anna and Elsa so well. The "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" sequence was both touching and heartbreaking, and "For the First Time in Forever" perfectly conveyed the contrast between the two sisters, with Anna totally elated at the prospect of opening the gates and possibly even meeting her true love, and Elsa completely frozen with fear, terrified that someone would discover her secret. The coronation scene was also amazing, as the close bond between the sisters was unmistakable, even after 13 years apart. I can't say I was completely thrilled with Frozen 2, mainly because I didn't like the ending, which I feel has somewhat damaged the franchise, but I did enjoy most of the movie.

That seems so messed up. What's the reason for that law?

Show Yourself was definitely the best song in Frozen 2, but I still like Let It Go more. That entire sequence in the original Frozen was amazing. I liked some things about Frozen 2 (i.e. Show Yourself, incredible animation), but for me it had nowhere near the emotional punch of Frozen. With the exception of the improved animation, I just thought everything in Frozen was better.

I want a 3rd film to fix what I didn't like in the 2nd one.

I'm glad you liked it, but it ruined the movie for me. Like when Anna's letter to Elsa says "keep looking after the forest". I just think that's stupid. The forest will be fine as long as people don't touch it. I mean, what is Elsa going to do on a daily basis, other than ride around on the Nokk?

Despite earning more in box office revenue I don't think Frozen 2 had anywhere near the cultural impact of Frozen. And in my opinion Frozen had a better story. I just didn't like the ending of Frozen 2. Elsa needs to end her vacation in the woods and get back to Arendelle. Although I did like this part...

I agree that Frozen is definitely better than Frozen 2, but I'd say it's more like A+ for Frozen vs. A- or B+ for Frozen 2.

I've seen people say that but the soundtrack was released on November 15th, a week before the movie was released, so the spoiler was already out there.

100% I'd be totally amazed if they didn't. In interviews it sounds like the entire creative team is already on board with the idea. The only real question is when.

Since Frozen 2 is near the end of it's theatrical run, it's time for me to ride off into the sunset (or to Ahtohallan)... But much like Michael Buble during the holidays each year, I will return from my long slumber when the yet to be announced Frozen 3 enters theaters sometime around Thanksgiving, 2025.

Dedication is exactly what I thought when I saw that. Also, I love Elsa in the 3D glasses.

Well, it surprised me, and I remember hearing audible gasps from other members of the audience at his reveal. Then again, I've never been the type of person to watch a movie actively looking for a plot twist.

I agree 100% with you. Into the Unknown is an okay song, but songs that are just okay don't win awards nor do they attract people to the theater. Disney was kind of in a no win situation with this. I think the only reason they didn't push Show Yourself and release the entire sequence on YouTube is because it's a major spoiler.

Two thoughts regarding the Frozen 2 Sing-along: The release date is two weeks earlier than the release of the Frozen Sing-along in 2013, which was January 31st. I guess Disney thinks Frozen 2 needs the boost now, whereas Frozen continued to have great legs and didn't need any help through the month of January. I'll be really curious to hear how the sing-along for The Next Right Thing goes. Not exactly an upbeat, sing-along type of song!
