Does this have a Chinese date? Also what I tend to see with Valerian is this. Me: "I am so excited for Valerian!" Friend: "What?" Me: "The movie Valerian, coming out in 2 weeks" Friend: "Never heard of it." Me: *shows trailer* Friend when Luc Besson's name or Fifth Element pops up during the trailer: "Oh this guy!" "Omg, Fifth Element! Loved that movie!" "He did Fifth Element?!" Friend when trailer is done "That looks really cool, I might have to see it now." If that movie had a better date (August) and more aggressive marketing, it could be a solid win for STX and Besson.

Because of the early reaction, I am choosing to shell out the extra $2.50 to see it in 3D

Very nervous for reviews. They will kind of make or break the film. Good reviews will definitely give it the push it needs and the studio confidence to market the f out of this over the next 2 weeks.

I really hope this can do well and by well I mean do Luc Besson's Fifth Element and Lucy numbers (120M). A Fifth Element adjusted for inflation gross (122M) should be the goal. Opening weekend: 20-25M Domestic- 55-75M Overseas- 200-250M Reviews- 60-70%
