  1. Looks like the vehicle that killed him had been recalled due to a faulty gear shift. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/jeep-killed-anton-yelchin-recalled-dangerous-error-article-1.2680334
  2. I thought JP was a superior film, but I can understand why you would like JW better. It was a hell of a lot of fun, incredible action scenes, and Pratt was a boss. For me the plot holes were way too big to put it ahead of JP.
  3. Ratatouille was a cute little movie. Nowhere close to being a top 100 film, but still....
  4. You can probably guess my age by looking at my breakdown... 30s - 1 (1) 40s - 0 50s - 1 60s - 5 70s - 10 (4) 80s - 21 (1) 90s - 32 (1) 00s - 25 (3) 10s - 5
  5. I wouldn't characterize TDK as "hilarious" as edm claims, but it definitely wasn't humorless... The Joker got huge laughs in the theater. Yeah it was dark humor... but it's still funny.
  6. Correct. It's not a cam, it's a telecine... which is actually pretty rare because it requires access to the print of the movie and special equipment. Out of curiosity I downloaded a 2 minute sample copy of it, and it's decent quality. Probably a step below DVD screener quality. Definitely way better than a cam, and good enough for douchebags who don't want to get off their cheap asses and see it in the theater.
  7. I'll jump on the CK hate train... Citizen Kane is a pompous, melodramatic, pointless, pretentious bore. "But but but... the camera angles! The innovative editing style!" Fucking bore.
  8. I hope you're right man. Personally I'm starting to see some chinks in the armor. I still contend we need a strong DCU to keep interest in the genre going. Here's hoping Suicide Squad breaks out, because if it's as bad as BvS then the DCU may be on life support... and the genre as a whole will suffer.
  9. Don't get me wrong, CW is a huge financial success. But with the addition of SM and BP, plus the strong critical reception, even you have to admit it should have done better (*cough* 225 OW Club *cough*). The dumpster fire that was BvS is partly to blame for that, IMO.
  10. You're missing the point. There are a lot of average moviegoers who aren't going to differentiate between Marvel and DC films. I'm sure a lot of them went to BvS and came out of it thinking "Well that sucked." Do you think they are more or less likely to see another superhero film two months later with a similar "vs" theme? There's no question in my mind that BvS' poor reception hurt CW among non-fanboy moviegoers. I love the MCU, but I also root for all comic book films to do well at the BO. The success of ANY comic book movie is good for the genre as a whole.
