  1. It was fine, but this franchise is definitely suffering from fatigue at this point. At the very least, the next film needs to move on from the Dracula - Johnny dynamic entirely. C
  2. Thanks for the list so far Baumer, very interesting reading some of the background/behind the scenes of these horror movies. I've gotten more into horror this past year after discovering the great youtube channel Dead Meat, and I was surprised how many of these I'd recognised! Looking forward to the top 5 - think I can guess number 2 at least.
  3. Just sitting in my theatre in the UK now. It’s crazy, it’s the first time I’ve had theatre workers come and check we’re all in the right seats because the cinema is probably sold out. Not even IW, where my showing was sold out bar the front row or so had this.
  4. It was packed today in Manchester - sold out shows (even the trash front row ones!) every showing I tried to get a ticket to. Finally managed to find a showing and grabbed one of the three free seats. It was really annoying though, had four really rowdy teenagers behind me who couldn't stop talking. They at least shut up for the actual film, but I was worried for a moment.
  5. Also: Combining with Disney are 21st Century Fox’s critically acclaimed film production businesses, including Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Fox 2000, which together offer diverse and compelling storytelling businesses and are the homes of Avatar, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool, as well as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hidden Figures, Gone Girl, The Shape of Water and The Martian—and its storied television creative units, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions and Fox21, which have brought The Americans, This Is Us, Modern Family, The Simpsons and so many more hit TV series to viewers across the globe. Disney will also acquire FX Networks, National Geographic Partners, Fox Sports Regional Networks, Fox Networks Group International, Star India and Fox’s interests in Hulu, Sky plc, Tata Sky and Endemol Shine Group. Does this mean the deal does include the F4 after all? I thought I read some debate here about that.
  6. $52.4 Billion !! Reading through the rest of the press release now, but that number! Man. I know rumours were at $60B, but I honestly didn't think this deal would happen for that much money in stock.
  7. I do wonder how long this sale will take to go through though, even if it's announced tomorrow say, when do we see effects of it come through in sales strategy, films, marketing etc...? (Ignoring the Marvel stuff for a moment, and also the obvious disadvantages like Disney being bigger dicks to theatres and their employees than they are now with Star Wars/Marvel) All I remember of when they acquired Star Wars/Marvel was how the deal was made pretty quietly and it was somewhat of a surprise to me at least. I wonder how long it will take to clear courts etc...
  8. I saw the trailer for this in front of Orient Express. People in the UK don't tend to react to the trailers, but I was definitely really uncomfortable watching it after Spacey's name came up and I could hear a few whispers too. I don't think the movie will get moved since they've already spent the money on advertising etc... I think they'll scale back ad efforts and dump it.
  9. Just seen this. It does bring some brand new twists to the original story, but obviously if you know the solution the mystery isn't really there. It was a very solid adaptation though (including a sneaky sequel bait line), though I think my Poirot will always be David Suchet.
  10. Monster Trucks opening here in 2 days! Wonder if anyone is going to see it tbh - have seen nothing advertised except posters in the cinema.
  11. I don't think it would have made a big difference either way, but I ended up voting for Madea Halloween too.
  12. Megamind was pretty fun. It's also pretty forgettable. Not too surprised it dropped quite a bit
  13. Well submitting a list early didn't work out. Will try and finalise something tomorrow since it's the weekend.
  14. Best trailer it's had yet - less focus on the annoying humour (like the cloud guy being much more tolerable in smaller doses), and more on the music, star names and crowd pleasing qualities. Will do pretty solidly I think.
