for me personally, WW's biggest achievement is that it's the leggiest 100M+ OW / 400M+ total DOM grosser. only those historical BO monsters can make its North America run look less than amazing. and yes, very much like with Avatar, some people here like to discredit WW's boxoffice result every chance they get by referring to the "quality" of the film (that it's merely a "bad, average, mediocre funny book movie").

yeah, its cbm dom standing will be sliding sooner (upcoming big screen serials) or later (inflation), but that 3.9+ multi is one for the history book.

it won't matter though; after passing SM1, WW would be the #1 none-sequel DOM grosser, which imo is not likely to be replaced anytime soon. if it actually gets over IM3, it'll be the #1 solo movie only behind the two TDKs, an amazing feat.

just brought my nephew to see it today. It got an almost limited release treatment in Taiwan; far fewer screens and showtimes compared to standard wide release features. was hoping to see it in IMAX, but Dunkirk still holds on to it~ anyway, some very fun and interesting moments, but overall...there are more meh stuff in it. then again, the last Besson film I really really like is Joan of Arc. Leon remains as my favorite, and would still go back to Subway and Big Blue once in a while.

WW has a chance to get to 400M at day 66, exactly as SM1 did. if not, one or two days late the most, it's done.

both SM1 and THG dipped under 1M at the day 57 (Fri), and WW is keeping the pace and grossed a bit higher by the estimate.

I believe the whole package of the monster WOM claim was that after WW overtake GotG2, SMH will overtake WW and claim the crown of summer 2017.

and I'm in a boxoffice forum, so it doesn't matter if you think it's legit terrible. Fox certainly didn't decide not to make the sequel because of mixed critical reception. it's quite impressive to me since it may stay as the 2nd highest DOM grosser of Apes franchise after War's run ends.

Burton's PotA actually grossed 180m DOM. adjusted to 280M. OS take was less impressive compared to the current reboot, but that's 2001, 182m was still respectable. It wasn't a financial failure back then at all.

I wouldn't call this wom; online fan ranking is part of such buzz/hype by fandom. Agree with the interest part since if the buzz actually get of closet fandom, WOM is at work to get the GA interested in seeing the movie in theaters.

I wasn't referring to RT audience score. It certainly reflects how a portion of moviegoers online feel about the film, but not indicating communication flow, that is wom. yes, SMH is having better hold in my country as well. WOM seems better than the North America,. too.
