  1. I just don’t think it’s very appealing and the stakes actually feel lower. NWH home was huge because of nostalgia. If there had been 2 other variants also played by Tom Holland that movie probably makes less than half of what it actually did.
  2. The biggest issue was following up Thanos with the multiverse arc. It’s incredibly hard to follow for a lot of people, the stakes just aren’t there with different variants of characters and there just hasn’t been any build up to connect the movies. And I think it has also contributed to quality issues as simpler story telling is often frankly better and easier to execute.
  3. Yep. Same character and style of franchise this has always been. Other than Ford just being older nothing about Indiana Jones or the action scenes felt out of place from the early movies.
  4. I really enjoyed this. The car chase scene after the auction dragged a bit but other than that I thought everything else worked really well from start to finish. Easily #3 for me in this series behind Raiders and Last Crusade.
  5. The alt right are the worst people in the world and have been impossible to miss since 2016. And sadly are basically main stream on the right in America at this point.
  6. Clones is the one Star Wars movie I just can’t rewatch again. Everything else, even ones I don’t totally love have their moments. That one is just so blah
  7. Yep, I don’t think Kennedy has any real vision. Throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks
  8. I have no problem with her character and would be fine seeing her again in a story that is well done. I haha zero confidence in Kennedy as a producer at this point or that she can help usher a good Star Wars movie to completion.
  9. They need to fire Kathleen Kennedy. And my opinion on that has nothing to do with the far right’s bullshit takes about Rey being a Mary sue or wokeness nonsense (which is all a bunch of garbage spewed by bad people) but from the fact she has mismanaged the Star Wars films pretty horribly with constant announced and canceled projects and very divisive last couple of movies and then seemingly missing the landing on Indiana Jones on a movie they were incredibly confident in.
  10. Chapek was an absolute moron. It’s amazing that people with zero talent can rise to those heights.
  11. Yep, they were clearly expecting this to get great reviews. But they also seem to be totally out of touch on the movie side of things.
  12. This should be the nail in Kathleen Kennedy’s coffin if reviews continue down this path and it isn’t successful.
  13. I really enjoyed this movie. But not quite sure what they were thinking here from a financial standpoint. Other than Socks there just isn’t anything here that would appeal to kids. Having a kids sci fi movie that is focused on time dilation and that isn’t really a fun action story? Tough sell
  14. So with Regal and AMC shutting their doors I have to imagine this is on VOD in the near future.
  15. Yeah, that was meaningless for TLJ. From all accounts I’ve seen (people I know, RT, various message boards) the consensus I’ve seen is that people are enjoying it and are satisfied with the conclusion.
  16. And the all audience on this one is at 76% and has actually been rising. Audiences by and large are really liking this it seems like.
  17. That really isn't true at all. It may be frontloaded over its opening weekends but the movies tend to have good legs overall for big blockbusters.
  18. I mean with the way society moves on from things these days even 3 years with no Star Wars movies might be fine but they need a new and compelling story not tied at all to the main saga or its characters in my opinion.
  19. The 63% is to Endgame's total Day 1 total right? If so that seems pretty good with about 8 hours left (from noon est) for TROS's opening day sales.
  20. Deadline’s holdover numbers are generally pretty worthless unless they give a Friday number. They are awful with early extrapolations.
  21. If the social media reactions and reviews this week are glowing it really feels like this is going to explode (and I doubt Disney would be dropping the embargo this week if they weren't incredibly confident).
