The Mermaid has grossed $419.4 million in just two weeks of release in China and is now the highest grossing movie of all-time there. Other top territories for the wacky eco-friendly rom-com are Malaysia ($5.8M), Vietnam ($3.3M), and Singapore ($2.3M). In the US, it opened with an estimated $1.02M this weekend from 35 locations
Both The Martian and Spectre are expected to be released around November. The Martian likely to come a little earlier but the two could be released as close to each other as about two weeks.
