4.8 "Legendary"

Recommended Posts

Oh dear, this is a big one.

The Challenge - Week 8

Immunities were 5 points a piece. CEDAR purchased an immunity that cost 5 points, as did Spaghetti. So our first two contestants entering this Challenge are...

Two highly esteemed Legends, who are also battling in the Legend Challenge...and one is battling against The Equation Sensation...

Acsc1312!!! and

DoctorWho

Because of the magnitude of this Challenge, and because a Legend will very likely be slain in the Legend Challenge this week (resulting in 2 eliminations), those two will be the only members entering this Challenge.

Quite frankly, with there being three Challenges this week, I couldn't detract from this moment by having a multiple elimination Challenge here in the end of things. If only one player does wind up eliminated this week afterall, then next week will have bigger ramifications.

So here is The Challenge:

Answer the same questions for the Legend Challenge! Because you are both Legends, not only will your answers be submitted into that Challenge, but also they'll be submitted here. It's still a separate Challenge, as that consists of all 6 Legends and has different consequences, and this consists only of you two. So while you may win here, you may lose there and still face elimination or some similarly bad fate. And just to make this easier on all parties involved (you two and me for scoring reasons), I'll make your Challenge the same as your Legend Challenge.

Time to bite the dust!

4.8 "Legendary" (cont.)

The first Challenge results are coming in. This was a three way Challenge between three highly esteemed Legends. The objective was to break down Goffe's shield, and thus to be able to attack "The Equation Sensation." Goffe, whose Shield Power Chip protects "Equation Sensation" from outside harm, had to fight to keep the shield active. Two other Legends attempted to penetrate the shield, and should they break through, they could activate their Power Chips on the number one team of the season.

It is a bold move, and Goffe had a lot riding on this. Let's look at the results.

Goffe:

Goffe did not fair too poorly. In fact he posted a stellar 92.61% score. In most Challenges, this is a hard number to beat. But here, Goffe competes against two highly skilled foes, both Legends. If either beats this number, that Legend will move on to activate his Power Shield. Let's see what damage has been avoided...or wrought!

DoctorWho:

Doc was the lesser of two evils in this battle. If he wins, his chip is automatically activated, however, so the damage will be unavoidable. His Power Chip is weaker than CEDAR's because Doc has had less experience in the game and is therefore a weaker Legend. That said, Doc is almost in skill as CEDAR and is probably more liked, at least in terms of his friendliness, which has often won him support. Now, he brings out his villainy as he targets "The Equation Sensation." His Power Chip will do some damage, but mostly, it won't harm the team too badly...not as much as CEDAR's would. Did Doc defeat Goffe's score of 92.61%?

YES! DoctorWho unleashes his Power Chip after scoring 97.95%, a remarkable score, on this Challenge! Goffe's Shield has been lowered, allowing Doc to pass through and unleash what hell he shall bring...but will it still hold back the greater Legend?

CEDAR:

No one has more to gain from lowering Goffe's shield than CEDAR, whose own Shadowkiller partner of two seasons Acsc competes in a Challenge this week to remain alive in the game. CEDAR surely has a passion to destroy "The Equation Sensation", and unfortunately for them, his Power Chip is lethal. Unlike Doc's, or Totem's, or even Goffe's, CEDAR's Power Chip will do unjust damage to those it infects...and the damage may be enough to bring about "Equation Sensation's" demise. But first, CEDAR still had to score higher than Goffe to break through his damaged Shield, which Doc already passed through. Did he manage?

In a stunning blow, CEDAR scored a whopping 98.17% on this Challenge, which means that CEDAR will be able to activate his Power Chip against "The Equation Sensation" as well.

There is now a conflict of interests here. Both CEDAR and DoctorWho busted through Goffe's Power Shield and can now activate their own chips against "The Equation Sensation." Their chips can work in sync with each other, but Doc's will likely undermine CEDAR's. While CEDAR did win this Challenge against Doc, posting a score that was 0.22% higher than Doc's, Doc possesses a chip that is more immediate in its use, simply because it is weaker. DoctorWho has already activated his Power Chip, and so, in a surprise move, the next Legend Power Chip is activated!

DOCTORWHO'S POWER CHIP! Doc's Power Chip is activated. DoctorWho possesses a Swap Chip. Because of this, DoctorWho now has the ability to swap the members of teams, including his own team. DoctorWho targeted "The Equation Sensation" because of one highly esteemed competitor, one who surprisingly isn't even among the Legends as this is his first canon season of Box Office Alliance (although he did appear in one episode in Season 3's semi-final). DoctorWho has decreed that player 4815162342 shall be swapped with SchumacherFTW. And so, 4815162342 is now shipped over to "The Earth Shakers" in a truly Earth-shaking move, while Schumacher is swapped to "The Equation Sensation." Ironically, while this may seem a sad blow to Numbers, it will be worth his while when he sees what CEDAR has in store.

However, CEDAR still must activate his Power Chip. He has the choice to go ahead and activate it against "The Equation Sensation", but now it will work against Jim Shorts, SchumacherFTW, and Goffe. CEDAR, the choice to activate your chip remains...you can still go against "The Equation Sensation", or you can choose a different target. The choice is yours!

OMG...every single one of you Legends predicted the Question 2 without thinking about Superman, which totally fucks your scores up.

...but to be fair, BOM specifies its release as June 14, not June 13, so I'll not count that 12 million figure as Superman's gross, as that would literally count toward midnight/previews, and I guess its unfair since you guys didn't know it would have some Thursday figures (hell I didn't know either!).

4.8 Challenge 2

Now for The Challenge as decreed by "The Equation Sensation". In this Challenge, Legends Acsc and DoctorWho faced off, and the loser will be eliminated. The winner will still participate in the same Challenge in the Legend Challenge, against four other Legends. Here are the results!

Acsc1312:

A less-than-expected 54.65% score.

DoctorWho:

Also a less-than-expected 60.30% score, but enough to win!

DoctorWho has won his second Challenge today, and this time, the consequences are more severe. In a crushing blow, Legend Acsc1312 has been eliminated.

Really? Which one?

This one!

4.8 "Legendary" - The Legend Challenge

The burden of being a Legend.

All six (or now 5) Legends were sent into a Legend Challenge. They could've chosen to opt out of it by purchasing immunity for 5 points, but rather, all of the Legends chose to enter this Challenge. All are highly skilled warriors, and these series of Legend Challenges will test them. The winner takes all...well, from the loser that is. Although there are 5 in the Challenge this week, the only ones who need to worry about anything are the winner (whomever that may be) and the loser, for the winner takes the loser's Power Chip, demoting him from his Legend status. However, the loser may venture into subsequent Legend Challenges (to be held next week and so on) and try to take back his or other chips. If he should lose (in last place) a second time, however, he will be eliminated.

In this Legend Challenge, the five Legends entering are, in alphabetical order: Alfred, CEDAR, DoctorWho, Goffe, and Riczhang. Who shall win, and who shall lose? Let's check their scores!

Alfred:

Despite going unnoticed most of this season, Alfred shows here that he may still be a big threat...as his score is definitely in the upper range here. The Legend, winner of Season 1 and the only player to make it into the Final Five games all three seasons in a row, posted a score of

78.71%. This may be enough to win. At the very least, we know it's higher than both Acsc's and Doc's, so at any risk, Alfred will not face losing his unidentified Power Chip.

CEDAR:

CEDAR surely will not wish to relinquish his Power Chip, especially now that his seasonal partner Acsc has been slain. CEDAR possesses a chip that he is currently about to activate, against "The Equation Sensation" most likely, although that may change. He is out for blood, and a bloodthirsty CEDAR is certainly not an enemy you want. CEDAR's score in this Legend Challenge was...

81.37%. Sor far, CEDAR has the upper hand here and may take home the glory of winning. And again, a glorified CEDAR is also certainly not an enemy you want.

DoctorWho:

Doc's score has already been revealed, as it was the same set of questions as his Challenge agaisnt Acsc. So, we know Doc did fairly poorly on this Challenge, and that might cost him here, even if it helped him defeat Acsc. But should he lose, he'll merely lose his chip, not his life...something Acsc lost. His score, as already reported, is 60.30%

Goffe:

Goffe is in tremendous danger already, as his Power Shield has been broken. His chip is already losing life and won't save him much longer, and now Doc has wrought some harm on him...and CEDAR may bring the storm shattering home. So Goffe's best chance is to survive in these Legend Challenges and to outlast, outskill, and out predict other Legends. His score this week was

61.72%. Not enough to top CEDAR or Alfred, but at least higher than Doc...which means he's safe for the time being.

Riczhang:

Last, but not least? Or maybe he is least? Riczhang also just lost a valuable partner...and Riczhang possesses the most frightening Power Chip of all, one that's far scarier even than CEDAR's. But fortunately for Riczhang, if he loses this week, his chip just ships over to CEDAR, who happens to be his partner, so what harm will it really do Riczhang, who can manipulate/encourage CEDAR to use it for the same purpose he would have. But all Riczhang really has to do is oust DoctorWho to keep his own chip. That shouldn't be too hard, right?

WRONG! Riczhang came in last place (well Acsc would have) with a score of 57.31%. This means that Riczhang is the first loser of the Legend Challenge. It's not a hard loss for him, when it's his partner who takes his Power Chip. Now CEDAR possesses two, and Riczhang's Legend status is revoked...perhaps. In many ways, Riczhang should be thankful, for now he does not have to continue to participate in these Legend Challenges, unless he wishes to.

CEDAR wins! This means, CEDAR takes Riczhang's power chip. Ladies and gentlemen, be afraid, be very afraid. CEDAR is now in possession of the two most malignant power chips, and he's already casting one. He is the most powerful Legend right now, the one who can totally change the direction this season is taking.
