Unions asked everyone gets credited on films I think that s why you have such funny credit as Jlaw s personnal hair dresser of Jlaw s security in X Men Apocalypse ( she had 4 people credited just for her in that film).

Yup because I really wanna know who assisted in helping with blank actors costumes, great job Hollywood.

In all seriousness, this has been common since at least the early 2000's. For pure job-reasons I'm sure credited everyone important on set is a good thing, it helps with slightly better pay I'm sure.

A lot of it depends on whether or not they decide to list the main cast and crew at the beginning, or after the film is over. The later is becoming more and more common these days, and credits are much longer as a result.

It takes less than a minute to credit the main cast and crew.   It's crediting the hundreds and thousands who worked on the film that make them so long.

I keep track. It's about over a minute when they do it at the end. I'm aware that it's because of the need to credit everyone on the technical side that has led to credits being so long, though. Thankfully I usually check out pretty quickly so I don't have to worry, unless it's a MCU film of course.

I can ignore it anyway, I just think some of the occupations listed sound a bit silly, but that's just me I suppose.
