As a fan, I'm curious to see what they do with these movies. But, honestly, talks of a trilogy seem extremely premature. I'm not sure this is really going to connect with many people outside the fan base as an extremely obscure extension of the Potter universe.

Flop in the making. How do things like that get greenlight?

Because studios automatically think that females will go to see a movie if it has a half naked handsome male.

Still don't get why this isn't a Quidditch Through the Ages movie or why the main character isn't female this time but everyone says it's straight from JKR so it can't possibly underwhelm...IDK, we'll see.

Hire Cuaron!!!

that's the last thing I'd want, really.

What? Why? With Heyman producing and Rowling directing and Cuaron already having directed Gravity with Heyman and done a Potter, the best one really, I'd hope he's near the top of the list.

Because you don't like Cuaron? Or, because you don't want him wasting time on a Potter spinoff?

because he just had a gigantic hit with an original film and I don't get why everyone's so desperate to see the guy jump into another franchise picture.

I think he said he would be up for it if asked and if he liked the script

Yes!

I'd always hoped he'd return to direct Potter 7. Then, it could've been effectively streamlined as one organic picture. While I enjoyed the second half, the first half was a near disaster that could only possibly appeal to a diehard Potter enthusiast.

DH1 is far and away the strongest film in the series.

Well, you're more than entitled to hold that view. My view... I think it's the worst standalone Potter film. I think they could've reduced it to 45 to 60 minutes and made one final film that was just over 3 hours long.
