You can make good arguments for Haymitch being Ravenclaw, Slytherin, or even Gryffindor (though that one's the least strong case IMO).

 

I'm stuck between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, at least through most of the first two books.

Exactly my thoughts. The only house I don't see him in is Hufflepuff, but you could make the argument of him being in Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryfindor (and again, I agree with you that the least one is Gryfindor out of the three). It's tough between Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

I went with Slytherin since I feel like she's mostly a self-centered charater. Not to mention, what she does is kind of like being a leader, as she makes sure everyone is where they need to be at in order to be on time.
