Franchise-wise, yeah. FF-franchise & Guardians of the Galaxy, probably. But by himself?.....it's a harder call. Sometimes he gets hits with The Pacifier & XXX, but other times, he gets a few bombs as well.

Megamind and Despicable Me are the two best animations from 2010

Then Toy Story 3 and way way down there you get How to Train Your Dragon

Megamind was one of the most forgettable animated films I've ever seen, only topped by "Monsters vs. Aliens".

The limit for DM3's box office will be known in 2015 with Minions. If Minions retains 70-75% of the DM2 audience, DM3 will be crazy huge. I'm thinking Minions retains like 50% which would be great for it as well as for DM3.

Minions had 91% retention domestically from DM2 and + 20% gain WW over DM2:)

Yes - huge will happen for DM3:)

With Woody & Buzz out of the year, I think DM3's chances of getting over 1.1B WW has become more likely now.

Minions already broke the typical franchise "trend" since usually third movies drop big after the second movie is so huge. And Minions was the third movie in the franchise for all intents and purposes, and it hardly dropped at all. So all bets are off for DM3. Could go up in spite of the usual trends.

Also, it brings the old characters back, like Gru, the girls, Lucy, etc. So I think the quality on DM3 could be better than on Minions.
