CAYOM - New Franchise by rights thread

Recommended Posts

Can I please claim The Torch Keeper, The Martian and We Were Liars (all novels).

I'm also interested in League of Legends, but that has been claimed and I can't find the profile of the person who claimed it.

You don't get rights to keep for singular books. You just adapt them.

Ignore The Martian, it's already a film due out next year in real life lol :'(

But The Torch Keeper is a series - rights for that series please. And also MapleStory.

So:

The Torch Keeper

MapleStory

Also The Martian is going to be a real movie in less than a year, so it's off-limits unfortunately. We don't allow adaptations to be made in close proximity to the production of real adaptations of the same material.

Somehow, Alpha worked his way around that though...

I know, technically The Giver should never have been made. Alpha snuck through and it won't happen a second time for him.

The Giver didn't have an official release date until September 22, 2013, and started shooting in October 2013. There wasn't even a forum thread until September 21, 2013.

This was, of course, 3 months before my adaptation of The Giver was submitted to the Year 8 Festival, and around that time a real-life adaptation of The Giver was considered in development hell.

Just some food for thought.

I also love how while Alpha's version one Best Picture, the real life one ended up getting shit reviews.

Clearly, we at CAYOM are doing something much more different than in current Hollywood.

In other words, I'm surrounded by geniuses.
