The first full normal week is now available.  The Monday to Wednesday after the first weekend for GOTG was AUD1.991m.  The Monday to Wednesday for GOTG2 after the first full weekend was AUD2.38m.  So for the last 3 days GOTG2 is 20% ahead of GOTG.

 

This suggests a second weekend of AUD4.5-5m.

 

Get Out opens this weekend here.  I'm thinking AUD2-3m.

It seems to be a weaker hold at this stage.  This coming weekend will show for sure.

 

Although it's hard to give an exact number due to the very different release pattern.

Not bad. 42% drop which is only 1% worse than vol 1. @DeeCee where do you see it finishing? 35m AUD?

I'm thinking $32-34m. GOTG1 made about $11.6m from this point over Aug/Sep. I suspect with more competition Vol 2 will make roughly the same or slightly less. Alien Covenant/Snatched  open on Thursday. The following Thursday is John Wick 2/King Arthur. Then Pirates followed by WW/Baywatch.

It made it to NZ. I saw it last Sunday, but that was a preview screening. Has a proper release on the 18th of May.

 

I was wondering about that though; I didn't see an eOne logo in-front of the movie like I did for some other stuff they distributed (La La Land springs to mind).

I think it's pretty good. It's 70% of Logan's OD, so using that model it would lead to a weekend of about 60M in the USA, give or take like 5M or so I suppose. @DeeCee is the expert.

Alien:Covenant had an OD to OW multiplier of 4.4.

 

Snatched had an OD to OW multiplier of 8.7

 

Snatched beat A:C on Sunday and A:C only just beat GOTG2 by a few thousand dollars.
