I think that if Pacific Rim 2 flops, it just means no Pacific Rim 3.

 

But I think that if Kong: Skull Island underperforms, that's a possibility.

There should have never been a PR2 to begin with, hence the reason Tull is out on his ass.

Agreed. Travis Beacham neatly wrapped the story up and put a pretty bow on it. Hopefully the sequel's story has a justifiable reason for following the previous film, other than completely copying the first film's plot.

Also, Jordan Vogt-Roberts looks really confident in this movie, so that's a plus. Amazing what he achieved with the visuals. First time director. I've never seen something like this.
