Overall, a gross similar to Godzilla would not surprise me but I think audiences learnt their lesson from last year. It didn't help that Godzilla had bad reception so I believe this will gross less - especially in North America.

Prediction: $140M in NA, $240M elsewhere (only because of China).

 

Could honestly see it doing these figurs OW. 

 

Anyway, I'm really excited to see how this performs globally. JP is such a part of our collective cinema memory.... I just can't help but feel that if this is any good (and early word is positive), it's gonna break out all over.

China will itself come close to 100m for the weekend. Plus rest of asia and Latin America will be huge. So DH2 OS OW can be beaten for sure.

As I expected. I think I predicted something like 385M for the global OW back in April.

Trans4mers: 4,650 showtimes, 20.5M yuan, 480k admissions ( Friday opening) (~$3.36m)
