Yes.....its very good...........i always find the International estimates for the total, as posted on Sunday, can be quite a bit flaky. The early figure of $419, now seems to of been rounded down to $413. Anyway, sometime late Monday the actual figure should be known! :)

Deadline:

In the meanwhile, let’s look at how 007 gained that extra $150M+. On 33,565screens in 91 total markets, Spectre is currently No. 1 in SPRI’s 69 territories. The international cume is $413.1M, after only 3 weeks.

Holdovers have been strong here while new markets this frame added $83.7M, 75% ahead of Skyfall at current exchange rates. China, as I reported here, brought the biggest opening weekend of all time with $48.1M from 14,700. That was 198% ahead of Skyfall and was aided by a boots-on-the-ground marketing campaign. An extra smart move after Skyfall had a run-in with the censors back in 2012.

Other major openers included Australia with $8.7M (including previews) from 610 screens, which is on par with Skyfall. Korea opened to $8.2M (including previews) for the weekend from 1,100 screens, 2% ahead of Skyfall; New Zealand bowed with $1.3M (including previews) from 136 screens, on par with Bond 23.

In holds, the UK, where the film is now the 3rd highest grosser of all time, dropped just 36% with $13.1M from 2,100 screens. The cume there is $121M. Germanyslipped 26% from opening to pull in a crazy $13.3M for its 2nd weekend. The local cume to date has reached $38.7M.

Here are the other major SPRI cumes: Italy ($10M); Russia ($10.7M); theNetherlands ($11.8M); Mexico ($8.3M, surpassing the lifetime total of Skyfall by 7%); Brazil ($5.3M); and Spain ($5.6M).

As for the markets where MGM has the film, Denmark has made Spectre the highest-grossing film of the year at a $10.5M cume. That’s 23% ahead of Skyfall in local currency. Sweden has a similar boast with 007 now the top-grosser at a total $9.5M. Same for Norway at $7.4M; and Finland ($6.3M). Poland’s cume is now $6.5M (43% ahead of Skyfall in local currency); the UAE has a total $4M (20% ahead of Skyfall locally; and Portugal is up 12% of Skyfall with $1.7M.

Spectre also smashed records in China for IMAX. With $4.6M on 246 screens, this is a three-day opening record for a November release and nearly four times as much asSkyfall’s debut weekend of $1.23M in 2012. IMAX screens occupied five of the top 10 engagements, including the No. 1 spot. The overseas total for the weekend is $9M on 483 IMAX screens. The total worldwide is now just under $40M.

Great holds around the world incl DOM. Lets not rule out 1B yet eventhough it looks hard to reach atm.

I'd say the big mark is $900m WW.  It only has Japan left to open and the yen is down 25% from 2012.

Openers: Skyfall vs Spectre

China: $34.5m (full 7 day - no w/e total available) v $48m

Australia:  $13.2m v $8.7m

NZ: $1.7m v $1.3m

SK: $5.9m v $8.2m

Comparative Skyfall v Spectre totals after 2nd & 3rd w/e

UK: $114.5m  vs  $121m

Germany: $43.45m v $38.7m

Norway:  $10.1m  v $7.4m

Sweden: $11.2m v $9.5m

Denmark: $9.98m v $10.5m

Netherlands: $12.75m  v $11.8m

Finland: $5.28m v $5.3m

Russia: $16.67m v $10.7m

Poland: $5.5m v $6.5m

Italy: $12m  v $10m
Spain:  $9.27m v$5.6m

Brazil: $8.1m v $5.3m

Portugal: $1.76m v $1.7m

Mexico: $5.8m v $8.3m

Maybe this can not reach billion, but still well over $900m. Let's say it loses $100m from US and wins $50m from China relative to Skyfall. I do not see how it can lose another $150m from the rest of the markets to make "just" $900m, considering the huge numbers already reached in most markets. I would say $950-970m.

Awww... with increased admissions in most markets compensating for a stronger dollar, Spectre is in gooood shape to hit the Billion mark. 900 mill is a given; whether it stops 40-50 mill after 900 like the hobbits 2 and 3 did or if it pushes on past the billion number is about the only point of contention.

We know the poor economies in Russia and Brazil have seriously affected their exchange rates in converting the local currency into dollars...........BUT why is the Spanish BO for Spectre down as well?

ER has dropped a lot since 2012 here too. And in terms in local currency it is still lower too. Maybe the fact that Skyfall was better reviewed or that the villain was Javier Bardem could be the key factors. But with Spain you never know. We are unpredictable in terms of box office.

The OS doesn't include France. Spectre could go up on Monday or Tuesday.

And the unreported numbers from France for the weekend was $14 Mill. Sony hasn't officially included this number in their International totals, but Hollywood Reporter has this mentioned.

Peludo, the 804m OS that skyfall gained in 2012...how much will it be by today's ER? Do you have an estimate?

According my data, using today ER's and not applying inflation, Skyfall would have done today about $663m OS. Just for reference, the markets which did more than $10m for Skyfall would be like this:

Australia: $50.0m => today would be 34.0

Belgium: 11.2 => 9.4

Brazil: 14 => 7.9

China: 59.2 => 58.3

Denmark: 15.8 => 13.1

France: 60.8 => 49.9

Germany: 85.3 => 70.2

India: 10.9 => 9.0

Italy: 17.1 => 14.2

Japan: 32.5 => 23.5

Netherlands: 25.1 => 20.7

Norway: 13.8 => 9.1

Poland: 10.1 => 8.1

Russia: 25.2 => 11.8

SK: 16.1 => 14.9

Spain: 13.8 => 11.4

Sweden: 17.9 => 13.7

UK: 161.2 => 152.8

I want to clarify that this is an approximation taking an average ER in 2012 during the release months for each market. But I think it is quite close to reality.
