Director: Michael Mann

Michael Mann puts his mark on the list with our first Cruise-driven film. Collateral earned 25.35% of #1's points.

RT Consensus: "Driven by Mann's trademark visuals and a lean, villainous performance from Tom Cruise, Collateral is a stylish and compelling noir thriller."

The first Tarantino film to be on the list - but most certainly not the last - is Kill Bill Volume 2. It earned 25.69% of #1's points.

RT Consensus: "Talkier and less action-packed as Vol. 1, it nevertheless delivers the goods for those expecting a satisfying conclusion to this two-parter."

Often considered one of 2006's best films, Little Miss Sunshine comes in at #91.

RT Consensus: "Little Miss Sunshine succeeds thanks to a strong ensemble cast, as well as a delightfully funny script."

Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman both had plenty of films which were voted for. This is one few that made the final cut.

RT Consensus:"Smart and solidly engrossing, The Master extends PTA's winning streak of challenging films for serious audiences."

Although many dislike the film, American Psycho has enough fans to make its mark on the top 100.

RT Consensus: "If it falls short of the deadly satire of Bret Easton Ellis's novel, American Psycho still finds its own blend of humor and horror, thanks in part to a fittingly creepy performance by Christian Bale."

67% on RT, apparently the film "polarised audiences and critics" (Wikipedia). Sorry if I'm wrong about that! I haven't seen the film, I don't know huge amounts about it.

RT is a wee bit dodgy back then (though not as earlier years). It's probably more like some people just were against the very concept (like any hard-edged satire).

This Batman sequel might not be quite as well liked as its predecessor, but that's not enough to keep The Dark Knight Rises off our list.

RT Consensus: "An ambitious, thoughtful and potent action film that concludes Christopher Nolan's franchise in spectacular fashion."

Director: Alfonso Cuarón

Unsurprisingly, there are a couple of Harry Potter movies on the list. Prisoner of Azkaban makes up one half of them.

RT Consensus: "Under the assured direction of Alfonso Cuaron, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban triumphantly strikes a delicate balance between technical wizardry and complex storytelling."

Note: Not a film about vaginas.

Director: Guy Ritchie

Written by: Guy Ritchie

The lowest Brad Pitt movie of the 100 is Guy Ritchie's second film, snatch.

RT Consensus: Though perhaps a case of style over substance, Guy Ritchie's second crime caper is full of snappy dialogue, dark comedy, and interesting characters."
