how come movie studios don't mind local libraries letting people check out movies for free?

I was going to ask this again because I forgot I made this thread. I still find it amazing  that, for instance, If I want to watch Game of Thrones, I don't have to get an HBO subscription, I just go to my local library and check out all the seasons on Blu ray for free. Surprised studios don't mind this
