Yup. Just disappointed it doesn't share a similar release date with Crimson Peak. It was fun seeing that last year on the verge of Halloween.

People often forget just how weird his Pirates trilogy and Lone Ranger actually are... Not to mention, the uber-weirdness of Rango and The Weather Man and expertly crafted Ring. He's a beast. Love his stuff.

Verbinski and Tim Burton make a pretty good comparison, though Verbinski tends to go for a brighter look and has less of a sentimental streak

And Verbinski always have this Charlie Chaplin/Buster Keaton sensibilities in his action set pieces : crazy stunts and absurd humor.

Pains me to say this but I'm Verbinski still has an edge, Burton's been blunted his edge a great deal. But, yes, I agree.

The premise and overall story sounds a bit like A Shock Treatment remake (French movie starring Alain Delon) using darker imagery.
