Lihongkim
Ip Man 3 decides to avoid competitions with local films. It choses to face import movies. No holiday in March, No big movie too.

Bad released date, delaying so long after its worldwide release.. =.= It is beating Star Wars and breaking Box Office records for an Asian Film in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia! Anyway, I heard that it is not about competition, more of a publicity move by the Chinese Distributor Da Yu Le, headed by Shi.. who has a big head and nothing else.

Ip Man 3 has some of the best reviews in recent years for a Chinese movie (outside of China). Was really surprised that its highest grossing day in Singapore is Christmas (and beat SW7 for 2 consecutive weekends for the highest grossing movie)... Kinda unexpected given how Westernised Singapore is. Douban's rating is only 6.8 now though. Curious to see if it also has mass appeal in the Mainland. Malaysia, China and Hong Kong all breaking records. Hong Kong chasing after Kung Fu Hustle. Malaysia already highest grossing asian movie. Singapore chasing after Ah Boys to Men 2's 790m Sing Dollar. A Good movie is appreciated by all, despite race, language or religion =) Ip Man 2 was 2010's rank 7 in mainland, coming out with Iron Man 2 and beating it. The reason for low douban scores is because there are jealous fans of other martial arts actor in China and they are scoring 1/10 for Ip Man 3 and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2 because they are jealous of Donnie Yen. Hearsay Vincent Zhao employs people, paying them to rate Donnie's movies low...
TigerPaw
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2(Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh) moved out of CNY, to February 19th. Reason given: Embracing the IMAX 3D format because most IMAX format would be given to Monkey King 2 on CNY... Don't know whether its a smart movie, but the competition then will be Skiptrace, rumoured to be release on Feb 20th. KFP3, Mermaid, Vegas to Macau 3, Monkey King 2 will be fighting for box office crown on CNY.

TigerPaw
4th March, Ip Man 3 is confirmed. Maoyan has updated it but nothing on Gewara. New posters just came out as confirmation. Actually looks better than the overseas poster. Lol. But opening on a quiet month... wondering how it will do.

Being a big movie release in quiet month, don't u think it's an advantage? Martial art movies a not popular like its previous years. But SPL II made nearly 600M Yuan last year, Ip Man 3 should double it.
