Thank you!

Sorry I jumped right in, should I post first in an introduction thread or something like that?

Practically impossible to obtain complete information, let me answer to the best of my knowledge. Far from a complete list.

To put this into perspective, Indonesia is still an underserved market. Number of screens by my estimate is still fewer than 1,200 (with a population of 260 million).

Practically all the screens are digital, and we usually open day-and-date with the US for the main movies. And always earlier, actually (because we open on Wednesdays). When a movie gets early international rollout like CW, usually Indonesia is in the mix as well.

BvS : $12,695,444

Deadpool : $7,031,122

F4 : $2,693,288

Ant-Man : $8,386,902

AoU : $15,504,514

IM3 : $5,301,345

TDKR : $7,527,926

Avengers : $11,949,911

Oh, and ticket prices are ridiculously low.

My tickets for CW show (weekday) are IDR 30k each, less than USD 2.50

That's 2D with Dolby Atmos.

You can go see a LOT of movies here without breaking your wallet.

Even a weekend IMAX 3D ticket will only set you back IDR 75k, less than USD 6.

Looks like BVS has good numbers in your country. Ant-Man, too.

And what's your predictions for CW in your country? Will it outperform BvS?

First of all, the Iron Man 3 number is most likely incorrect. Other source has it at 13.1 million, much more likely given the Avengers effect.

As for your question, my answer would be a resounding YES. From the online booking experience, definitely this is bigger (don't have the numbers though, I'm just a regular customer).

Looking at the North America domestic long range forecast given by boxoffice.com, Civil War keeps creeping up. First it was a 170 mil opening, then 182, then 190, and now 200 mil on the way to a scary 550 mil finish. You apply a 35:65 dom:int ratio on that, and the result will surpass my high end prediction.

In Indonesia I think it will not only outperform BvS, but also AoU.

Well, 13.1 million is a more reasonable number for IM3.

I so envy you. People in your country are always among the first in the world to watch a new movie!

5USD for night time 2D and 12USD for IMAX here :(

How much did BVS make in Vietnam ?

I don't have official number. I just know that its OW is around 1.5M (about the same as AOU and FF7) and it closed in just 2 weeks. Boxoffice mojo number is $2,209,237.

AOU made more than 5M, FF7 more than 7M

We have a lot more theaters this year compared to last year. Hope Civil War can beat FF7, it being at the top is such an eyesore.

Hi! Saw you posted but didn't know you're from Vietnam.

I was in VN 2 years back and was kinda surprised at the high ticket prices too. I guess movie viewing is still somewhat a luxury there.

From your posts, look like you're a fellow MCU fan :) Thank you for providing info on Vietnam BO.

Since CJ Entertainment (a South Korea company) took over Vietnam's movie industry, ticket price has gone nut. Our GDP per capita is just $1900 and we're paying more than countries with >2x our GDP per capita. I usually wait for discount day to go watch movies.

And yes, I love what Marvel's doing with their superheroes.
