I see you finally got the hang of posting the lists. :)Yes The Help is killing it on DVD sales. I thought Bridesmaids did well but The Help has done even better. Hangover 2 is doing pretty well too.And how about Green Lantern back in the top 25?

Top 20 Sellers for the Week Ended 01/15/12

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/top-sellers/top-20-sellers-week-ended-011512

The post-holiday new releases continue to trickle in as Hollywood mines its leftover 2011 theatricals for January and February release, amid hopes the home entertainment industry’s so-called “fifth quarter” will prove a fruitful one as consumers cash in gift cards or look for discs to play on their new Blu-ray players.

The big tentpoles were all released in advance of the holidays. And thus it is that a modest theatrical success, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Moneyball, scored a rare triple play the week ended Jan. 15, debuting at No. 1 on both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, as well as Home Media Magazine’s rental chart.

Moneyball, a baseball biodrama starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, grossed $75.4 million in U.S. theaters during the fall. According to Nielsen data, 44% of first-week sales were on Blu-ray Disc.

Bowing at No. 2 on both sales charts was another fall 2011 theatrical, Universal Studios’ Killer Elite, which stars Robert De Niro and earned $25 million at the box office. (Universal is one of the studios that holds back releases from Netflix and Redbox by 28 days, so it didn’t appear on Home Media Research’s Top 20 rentals.) Killer Elite generated 53% of first-week sales from Blu-ray Disc.

And, again on both sales charts, Warner’s Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season debuted at No. 3, generating 39% of its total sales from the Blu-ray format.

On Home Media Magazine’s rental chart, the No. 2 spot went to 20th Century Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, fresh off its 28-day rental holdback. The Hangover Part II, the previous week’s top rental, slipped to No. 3.

Top 20 Sellers for the Week Ended 01/29/12

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/top-sellers/top-20-sellers-week-ended-012912

Walt Disney Studios’ Real Steel, a sci-fi actioner with Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lilly, scored a rare triple-play victory on the national home video charts the week ended Jan. 29, riding its $85.4 million domestic theatrical gross to a No. 1 debut on the overall sales and rental charts as well as the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart.

On the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks overall disc sales, Real Steel was followed at No. 2 by another new release, Summit Entertainment’s 50/50, a comedy with a $35 million box office gross. Real Steel, however, outsold 50/50 by a 5-to-1 margin.

On Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, Real Steel — which generated 54% of its first-week sales from the high-definition disc edition — was followed at No. 2 by a third new release, Paramount’s Paranormal Activity 3, which earned $104 million in U.S. theaters and is available only as a Blu-ray combo pack until Feb. 14, when the DVD-only version is released.

Even so, Paranormal managed to debut at No. 5 on the overall disc sales chart and No. 3 on Home Media Magazine’s rental chart, underscoring the growing clout of Blu-ray. To further Blu-ray sales, several studios are toying with tiered release schedules, putting the Blu-ray in stores weeks before the DVD becomes available.

50/50 debuted at No. 2 on the rental chart and No. 3 on the Blu-ray Disc sales chart, generating 45% of its total unit sales from the high-definition format.
