well, it's not an action movie starring Leonardo Dicaprio or a high concept space movie or one of the most anticipated finales ever.... Would be odd if people were actually hyping it to heavens.

I'm excited for it. Mostly because I want to find out if I can understand a quarter of what Mark Rylance is saying.

Him and Hardy combined -- high degree of difficulty, especially when you consider the possibility of the Nolan IMAX sound-mix.

I think I understood 3 words he said in the prologue.

Anything above 350m is a ok bo result. Anything above 500m is very strong.

Above $500m would make it the biggest unadjusted war movie of all time I think, $350m would put it at number 4.

Saving Private Ryan: $481.8

300: $456

Pearl Harbor: $449.2

Inglorious Basterds: $321

The Patriot: $215.3

Braveheart: 210.4

Valkyrie: 200.27

War Horse: 177.58

Black Hawk Down: 172.98

Apocalypse Now: 150

In recent year's:

Imitation Game: 233.55 million

Fury: 211.81 million

Hacksaw Ridge: 175.3 million

Unbroken: 163.4 million

If the Euro stay like that, for anyone else reaching 250 million with a movie like that would be impressive, but Nolan and the money I imagine he got for it and the giant release Warner will give to it, he certainly raising the bar versus the usual WW2 movie, still doubling Hacksaw Ridge would already be impressive imo.

Have you people read the comments on youtube? Lots of fangirls saying they are going to fangirl hard (ie scream) every time that 1D dude appears.

Come on. People say a lot of stupid stuff on the internet that they don't do in real life. It's normal. Those "fangirls" might just save this movie's BO. I'm counting on it, actually.

I think Interstellar split his fanbase a bit and his name is becoming somewhat of a punchline.

This is not true at all.

Well people should give them credit if they can fangirl a Titanic out of this war movie.

Are you sure that the fangirls will just "scream" instead of going "Fifty Shades"?

This here is the Shay's LEAST anticipated movie this year.

It's just something that vaguely registers on Valerian's date, trying in vain to counterprogram.

As if someone would willingly choose something as boring.

That's still a pretty stupid decision they made.

It didn't happen and that was a clickbait story.

the whole flick seems like pretty much a 2.5 hour adaptation of that one shot from atonement tbh. and i'm not sure it'll be better.

I'll increase my prediction to 45/145. I'm just not sensing enough appeal for this, and it's a hard sell. I think good reviews will still leg it out though.
