Bryan Cranston has been set to star opposite James Franco in Why Him, the 20th Century Fox comedy to be directed and co-written by Meet The Parents and Zoolander scribe John Hamburg. Hamburg previously directed I Love You Man and Along Came Polly. He co-wrote this one with Ian Helfer.

The logline: Over the holidays, a Midwestern dad travels with his family to visit his daughter at college, and soon finds himself in a battle for her affections with her new, brash tech billionaire boyfriend. Production begins in Los Angeles in February. Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour are producing. 21 Laps president Dan Levine is overseeing for the production company and Jeremy Kramer will oversee for Fox.

This year's Daddy's Home

James Franco isn't exactly a hot commodity. Plus the plot is less family friendly, so i wouldn't expect Daddy's Home numbers. Sisters is probably a better comparison point.
