'Twas the Derby before Christmas | Week 52: December 25 - December 27, 2015

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the web,

Not a member was stirring, not even a #Ed,

 

The predictions were posted in the Derby with care,

In hopes that the actuals would soon be there;

 

The players  were nestled all snug in their beds;

While visions of winning danced in their heads;

 

And @Shawn in his  'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long weekend's nap,

 

When out on the forum there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

 

Away to the computer I flew like a flash,

Checking to see if the forums had crashed .

 

When what to my wondering eyes did appear,

A thread with an estimate, with numbers to fear,

 

It wasn't a member, it wasn't a Mod,

Somehow I knew it was the Asgard god.

 

More rapid than flops his minions they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

 

"Now, Tele! now, Baumer! now Ed  and CJohn!

On, Kelli! on, Grim! on, Water  and Shawn!

 

To the top of the standings! no prediction too small!

Now estimate! estimate! estimate them all!"

 

So up to the forum the members they flew

With the thread full of guesses, and @Rth too—

 

As I deleted a spoiler, I heard a strange sound,

Into the thread @Rth came in with a bound.

 

He doesn't speak much there's no time to chat,

He'll post his number and then he will scat,

 

"The WC is representing, it's not going to stop",

"The Force Awakens... will have a small drop",

 

The forum trembles, the online list spikes,

They're rushing to shower @Rth with likes,

 

But quick as I can, I head to the Derby,

My prediction you see, was not quite as nervy.

 

I load the page and what did I see,

Predictions are closed... it is too late for me,

 

I stare at my numbers and what do I see,

Another game wasted... no glory for me,

 

I reload the thread... @Rth wanders in.

Saying don't worry AndyLL, someday you'll win.

Late addition.

 

While the Derby can handle any number of movies per week a lot of the screens are tailored to 10.  I would prefer it stays at 10 every week.
