This deal benefits Hollywood. The more investments Chinese businesses have in Hollywood the more justification the Chinese government has to loosen local restrictions on Hollywood releases.

Weird. So now Wanda group owns Legendary, and AMC Theatres. Add in the fact that AMC and Regal jointly founded Open Road and things get even stranger in Hollywood.

Makes sense since China is the only country which cares anymore for that franchise. Probably a 2020 release, maybe, or maybe Del Toro just forgets about it halfway through directing Fantastic Voyage
