I'd hoped for better for Everybody Wants Some, though I'll admit much of the fun was just poking at the edges of the rules.

Now that no films are wide from March, i'll no  longer be posting updates until films are finalised.  all monies will continue to  be added to your bank accounts of course

March Report - FINAL

 

A total of 12 wide films were released during March of which only 7 films were invested in.  An additional 2 limited releases were invested in also.  Ultimately, the month was domianted by 2 released with Zootopia coming out on top over Batman vs Superman.  All wide releases invested in accept for Allegiant, and the young messiah managed positive returns with 10 Cloverfield Lane bringing in the best return on investment on it's meagre 15m budget.  Zootopia of course manged the highest $ return for the month on it's 120m budget.

 

the first weekend of March saw the release of the aforementioned Zootopia along with London Has Fallen and Whisky Tango Foxtrot also being released.  Only Zootopia saw investments this week, though much of this was to do with the fact London Has Fallen had a game budget much higher than the final budget was. (I think we had over 100m on this when it end up being 60m which it ended up barely making back.) A limited release film "the other side of the door" also saw investments but failed to make any headway losing over 70% of it's 10m budget.  Anyway given the fact the holdovers from February were already dropping fast (excluding Deadpool which continued to make a tidy sum), the weekend was won by Wrath with nearly 77m.  Lucasbenica pulled into 2nd with 52m.  Of note, this was the 4th week in a row these had led the game. JJ-8 (me) was in third with 42m.  

 

The 2nd weekend saw 4 wide releases with 2 of those films seeing investments.  Both Grimsby and the perfect match failed to make any impact on the box office and both were losers compared to their budgets.  In fact the only film to make money on the weekend was the low budget 10 Cloverfield Lane.  Wrath continued his stranglehold on the game (at this time) with a fifth week at the top.  He barely stayed ahead of CJohn fell 400k short of the top this week with both over 52m.  Lucasbenica fell to third with over 42m.

 

The 3rd Weekend saw 3 new wide releases with only 2 of those receiving investments.  Miracles from Heaven opened on the wednesday before the weekend and went to see a strong ROI on it's 13m budget of over 370%.  Unfortunately, the The Divergent Series faltering with it's 3rd installment becoming a serious misstep (in hindsight i think Lionsgate would be wishing they had finished this series with this film) and it saw a 34% drop from it's 100m budget.  Lucasbenica finally popped Wrath from the top spot with 58m.  Wrath dropped to 2nd with 36m and i (JJ8) was in third with 34m.

 

the final weekend (4th) saw 2 new wide releases which both were fully invested in.  The very expensive but wildly anticipated Batman v Superman lived up to expectations on opening weekend with over 166m, but ultimately against it's budget of 250m was only able to manage a 32% ROI well under it's expected much higher return.  while My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 didn't go close to match it's predecessor, it did manage a healthy ROI on it's 18m budget of over 230%. this weekend saw the highest weekend overall total to date which led overall by lucasbenica with 203m in a single weekend on top.  Grey Ghost trailed way behind on 89m and BourneFan#1 in third on 64m.

 

While, most of the money was made in April, Everybody wants some was released in March on the 30th in limited release.  it also failed to ignite the box office failing to make it's budget back.

 

Thanks to his massive final weekend, lucasbenica dominated the month overall with an amazing 484m which is in fact the highest record March Total ever in the game.  Wrath not surprisingly was up amongst it in 2nd with 296m and cjohn in third with 231m.
