cannastop
Just recently, the average ticket price for 2016 has been figured to be $8.66, a 2.7% increase from 2015, or $8.43. The year isn't over yet, so the price might be higher by December. Ticket prices are rising faster in recent years than they were a short time ago. In 2015, for example, there was a 3.2% increase from 2014, or $8.17. Period from 2009-2014 increased at an average annual rate of 1.7%, from $7.50 to $8.17. That was a period of economic slowdown and low inflation in general, of course. If ticket prices continue to have 3% annual increases, we will see an average ticket price of $10.04 bv 2021. What do you think of this development?
keysersoze123
average ticket prices are dependent on how the BO is spread. Since this year has been market by either movies breaking out huge or flopping outright. Plus very few small movies that made big money. Big blockbusters have 3D/IMAX/PLF that tends to drive up average ticket prices. If the number of PLF continue to grow the average ticket prices will grow. Plus other fads like 4DX etc also will continue to drive up ticket prices. This is also leading to discount tuesday being very popular. I think soon tuesday would be bigger than a saturday !!!! cannastop
@keysersoze123 Yeah, Tuesday is never going to overtake Saturday. Saturday just has so many people off work that it's the ideal time to see a movie.

What do you think of this development? I need to move to the places which have 10$ average ticket prices. This is actual prices for a showtime in LA 30 bucks for a ticket. And people wonder why attendance is dropping.
