We're living in the Golden Age for Horror movies.

No. That was indisputably the late 60s through the early 80s.

Jaws, The Exorcist, The Shining, Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of The Dead, Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, The Omen, The Amityville Horror, The Fog, Suspiria, Zombi 2, Rosemary's Baby, Friday the 13th, The Thing, An American Werewolf in London, The Evil Dead, Creepshow, Carrie, The Wicker Man, The Howling etc.

I don't think many persons are noticing this, but Split is also having a massive OS run. It's currently at $112m, with Brazil still to open, where the movie is having tons of buzz, MNS is even coming to the country to promote the movie. It probably is going to end at $130m+ OS, and will become the fourth biggest OS grosser of the decade, only behind the movies in the TCU.

We haven't had a slasher horror film since 2013.....damn that is a long time. I wonder why studios aren't making slasher horror.

I think horror movies kinda work in waves, don't they? Slasher horror won't take long to be back I think.

I was thinking the same. Oh the good ole days of Scream!

Excellent work by @Krissykins

But I would not categorize I am Legend, World War Z, Resident Evil, Underworld, Cloverfield, Signs, The Village and a few others as strictly speaking "horror"
