First surprise of the year. I'm gonna say this year we will match the record

This 31 movies are safe bets

Split

Lego Batman

50 Shades Darker

Logan

Kong

Beauty and Beast

Boss Baby

Fate of the Furious

Guardians 2

Alien

Baywatch

Pirates 5

Wonder Woman

Captain Underpants

The Mummy

Cars 3

Transformers

Despicable Me 3

Spider-Man

War of the Planet Apes

Dunkirk

Dark Tower

Ninjago

Kingsman

Thor 3

Justice League

Coco

Star Wars 8

Ferdinand

Jumanji

Pitch Perfect 3

And there's plenty room for breakouts (American Mad, It, Granite Mountain, Emoji, Valerian, House, Snatched, Smurfs, Power Rangers, Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, Commuter, Geostorm, Bad Moms Christmas, Red Sparrow, Murder on the Orient Express) + Oscar contenders + surprises

Bolded the ones that made it.

Already four movies this Summer under 100M. And zero surprises.

From my "sure" bets, I am doubtful about Dark Tower and Ferdinand. The rest should happen. So 25 movies is the floor.

Apes will be 17. Dunkirk will be 18. Baby and Girls can do it and be 19 & 20.

In August, Hitman's Bodyguard & potentially Dark Tower look like ones that could do it but will be 21 & 22. If they make it.

September had IT, Lego Ninjago, and Kingsman 2 which would be 23-25.

October has Blade Runner 2049, Happy Death Day(yes I'm thinking it could happen), and a surprise. Which be between 26-28.

November has Thor 3, Coco, Justice League, Daddy's Home 2, maybe Bad Moms Christmas and Murder On Orient Express which if all those happen it would be 34 total.

December has potential 3-4 films such as Star Wars:The Last Jedi, Pitch Perfect 3. Jumanji, and Greatest Showman On Earth. Which would be 38 films altogether.

So 2017 could make it to the record(shit I forgot Emoji Movie and hopefully Atomic Blonde). But anything could happen since its box office and that's unpredictable.
