I was interested until just now when I learned that multiple dogs die in it. I'm not signing up to see even one dog die.

It's interesting that some people find an animal dying harder to watch than a human dying. I've never understood this.

Humans can be nasty. Dogs not so much.  I find it very hard watching SOME characters dying. (Real people and animals are different)

An animal dying is innocent + helpless to an extent a human being dying almost never is. Especially in movies.

We're in the process of updating the site right now.
Try again in just a few minutes.

The Monday estimates remind me that MLK day isn't a holiday for a lot of businesses. Kids are out but not necessarily grown ups.

With Cheap Tuesday, everything should hold well for an additional day. A theater near me has started 4$ tickets on Tuesday and Wednesday all day. Looks like theaters loved the traffic cheap Tuesday brought in and want to see if they can extend it to an additional day.

Far be it from me to suggest they just lower the price of tickets, all around...

Are we talking personality-wise? Because dogs are always nasty. They're stinky, they're messy, they're just gross all around. Now if we're talking about cats, then I agree, they're awesome. Dogs are disgusting, though. If you mean as far as personality, well then it depends. Some dogs are terrible, some are great.

R1 needs almost exactly to do the half of TFA since the end of xmas holiday to surpass TDK. and make 534 million.

For the moment is on pace, tomorrow needs 1.2 million for going on the way, i think is possible, but let´s see drops after the long weekend.

come on!!

I'd rather spend time with a dog than most humans.  Dogs don't let you down even if they pee on the floor.

I think it will be a photo finish and fun to track.  I had RO getting 540 minimum after seeing that opening weekend but i didn't account for how strong the competition ended up being.  When you're at these stratospheric box office levels, you need every demographic you can get.  Every little bite from Hidden Figures, LLL, Sing, and the upcoming Split and even Dogs will drag down its momentum.

Everyone, I have hypothetical question: Let's say that despite Paramount's massive write-off from Monster Trucks, the movie managed to make a profit by some ungodly miracle. How would that affect Paramount's finances and the write-off?

Way too late to wonder about that.
