Ive explained it before.

I think from a technical perspective its a very weak film. And I didn't find anything special about the acting and the third Act is a complete mess and the fact that Nyomi Harris was NOMINATED for best supporting actress kind of makes me ill.

For me she was the highlight of the movie, I agree about the third act being a complete mess though.

everyone here seems to say the third act is the weakest part but man i think that's just nutty. for me it was far and away the best. really beautifully done. if the whole movie was like that it would've been in my top 10. though it's probably because i'm a big wong kar-wai fan and i feel like that was the section where barry was most obviously taking from his playbook. i can see people w/ more mainstream taste not vibing w/ that type of formalism. /hipster.

The last two shots in particular are absolute perfection. So moving in their stillness. I also like the third act. And in response to an above comment, the movie is divine from a technical standpoint. The smooth camera, the beauty of the cinematography, the color coding in the scenes when Harris is yelling, and the music...all outstanding.
