After looking at my theatre's numbers I was fully expecting 4-4.5M. This is about equal to Mad Max's numbers though, so I'm not really disappointed. Mid 40's looks like this is where it's heading.

3.7M is a really good start, IMHO. More or less the same as Pacific Rim, which opened in July. Given the solid reviews, it's a promising number

300. RoaE scored 45m OW after 3.3m midnights. I see Kong as a much less frontloaded movie than the 300 sequel, so 50m OW very likely and 55m OW in play i think.

I was thinking a similar OW:previews ratio as Godzilla, but this seems a bit too low for that so maybe it'll more than 10:1

Thursday shows started at 7pm so 300 is a bad comparison this can still end up anywhere from 35mil to 45mil weekend, I  am leaning towards 45 though
