BOT's Ranking of the Top 200 Films of All Time (Adjusted) Countdown begins TOMORROW at 9AM PST!

So should we put films we haven't seen all at the bottom in equal last?

Or just make a list containing the stuff we saw and leave out the stuff not seen.

(The second way would require scoring to be stretched slightly to reflect that 120th (or whatever) is the worst film out there and not better than 80 films on somebody else's list who just happened to see more films).

Don't include films you haven't seen. The points will be skewed to account for the number of films. All films that you haven't seen will also get zero points (keep in mind this list is just as much about influence as it is popularity).

One person lists 50 films, #1 in the list is film X

Another person lists 200 films, #149 in the list is film Y

Film X would receive less points than film Y in this scenario.

You make a good point. I'll edit the original post.

I'm running short on time, so I just organized the movies into groups instead of properly ranking them. Don't be surprised if you see something like Shrek 2 over The Godfather.

Gotta say, you have weird taste in movies.

this is going to take a while.  I have like the bottom 20 and maybe the top 40, the rest in the middle is going to take some time :P

Take your time! You have two weeks.

I've seen 137 of these. Wonder if I liked enough of them for a top 100.

You don't have to like them to rank them ;)

well had time to kill at work so finished it and sent it.  Like I said in the message, if you asked me to do this again, other than maybe the top 40 and bottom 30, the rest would probably be different :P

I feel like I want to insert all the films that I have not seen into the gap at which I believe films turn from good films into bad films.

That way I don't hurt the films I haven't seen that have a decent shot of being better than the stuff I place below them.

Or at least have a list that has a list with a hole in the middle :)

I wouldn't worry about it. It kinda sucks to put so many potentially good movies ahead of the bad ones, but this is just as much about the influence these films have today. (If it helps, you can put a gap in your list, but it's going to be measured the same way anyway)
