So much for all that doom and gloom  20M still stands a good chance, but based on how it's performing at my and others' theaters, it'll be close.

It was doing pretty well at NYC theaters last night.  Easily better than Life though not near PR's o/w

Deadline says it could do 30M. SJ officially can open a movie

I think it's looking at a low to mid 20s opening based off of that number.

That's...fine, I guess? $20m+ should happen. Not exactly a great start, but compared to the people who said it would land in the mid-teens it's not a total failure.

B&tB is going to do high 40s.  I don't think BB comes near that.

so basically if Ghost in the Shell gets around $20, it will have hit expectations.  So not really good or bad, but at least so far it didn't just bomb

Decent for Ghost, at least as far as expectations are concerned. That would be a good hold for Beast last night if the 6.1 is accurate.

Frontloaded but didn't have strong advanced tickets sales?

 

1.8M is quite solid, more than double what Life did (800k). 25M looks like a solid bet at this point
