TOP 100 VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME POLL - Countdown will start on Korean Tuesday, will accept lists up until first reveal because I am nice (and also one high position is tied and I want that tie broken)

As simple as the title suggests. Just send me your lists of the best game characters of all time. (console, handheld, PC< Cellphone all are valid) 

 

Lists can be any length from 10 up to 487. Eligible Characters include:

 

- Playable Characters

- NPCs

- Enemies

- Bosses

- Pretty much anything except custom made characters and sports players in sports sims. 

 

- No need to pick particular games, a character cannot be listed twice unless there is a clear massive difference in character to the point they are essentially something different (say like Arcade Donkey Kong Mario and then Mario Mario (and possibly Baby Mario?)

 

Overall, my feeling is that if 47 people vote for Cranky Kong, then that is vindication enough for his inclusion.

 

If a list is not ordered from 1st to whatever, an average score will be given to everyone on the list based on the size of the list.

@chasmmi I'm going to have to ask for one exception to your rules and it's the sports one and this only counts for one person.  I agree 100% that they shouldn't be included, but one specific player in one specific game has to be allowed

 

I hereby request that Bo Jackson from Techmo Bowl be that exception.  I think most would agree with me on this one

A) You have no need to get close to 100 characters if you wish. Top 20 or even 10 is more than fine.

 

B ) Even taking just the Mario franchise I could name about 20 arguably iconic characters in gaming:

Lakushu (the cloud guy)

I am generally flexible. I would say that Fable protagonist is fine to choose, a WWE14 CAW, not so much.

 

My general philosophy here is going to be, if enough people vote for it to make the list, then it is probably acceptable.

I can't participate in this.  I can only name maybe 10.
