GOTG2:7.2M -4% (Deadline)

http://deadline.com/2017/05/king-arthur-snatched-guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-2-weekend-box-office-1202091662/

...... The Guy Ritchie-directed epic will easily be upset by the second weekend of Disney/Marvel’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which is set to generated between $63M-$72M sending the James Gunn-movie over the $200M mark. Yesterday, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 easily dominated all titles with $7.2M and a week’s tally of $183.1M, 36% ahead of the first GOTG at the same point in time.....

Sooooo, this is fine, right?

That will only go down with time, especially when we approach GOTG2's equivalent of GOTG1's september holds.

Still, a week-end hold like this would pretty much lock a total over GOTG 1

Honestly something like $67M is absolute ceiling for this weekend for Vol. 2... I can't even fathom some near/over $70M.

Well if it plays like a family film

Friday 18.7 160% increase

Saturday 31.8 70% increase

Sunday 20 35% FALL

Total 70.5 million

If they think Sunday gets mother's day boost for possible 72

I feel $65m +/- myself but if Mothers Day wasn't Sunday, taking away some would be moviegoers I could go with $70m.

It's that good and there is zero competition. Heck, I'd go again.

Good number. Again we as a board are much better on average predicting where things end up since nothing has really changed since Mondays numbers came in.

Should be good for about 62m give or take 1-2 on either side.
