I delivered my review to my local distributors.  I giddily await the feminist backlash for not calling this movie the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I walked out of my screening last night and there was another local critic behind me who is typically outspoken with strongly feminist views, and she was vocal walking out of this, too.  "It's Wonder Woman.  There weren't enough men killed.  Why couldn't all of the men in the movie be killed off?" 

 

No joke.

Legal Complaints Filed Over Alamo Drafthouse Female-Only Wonder Woman Screenings

No woman, no matter how wonderful, is safe from complaints from men. After Alamo Drafthouse announced a woman-only screening of Wonder Woman in Austin (and, after backlash online, added a few more), the theater chain has been subject to legal discrimination complaints, according to a report from the Washington Post. He’s argued that the theater is discriminating against male customers on the basis of their gender and that, in promising to staff the events with female employees, it was also discriminating against male employees. According to an expert in employment law interviewed by the Post, however, it may be hard for Clark, or other complainants, to prove that employees suffered any damage from the screening as long as they didn’t lose work because of them.

That could be an interesting case, in canada there is some precendant, like people suing woman only gym:

One big point in a city with multiple gym is that:

Firstly, the tribunal found that the complainant was not adversely affected by the denial of membership

Here that will be certainly the case, I suspect a theater playing the same movies on 5 screen at the same time will not be far.

 

Second, the tribunal found that the complainant failed to prove that his dignity has been adversely affected by his denial of membership.

That will probably be the case there too.

 

Third, the tribunal found that its purpose is to provide compensation for those who have actually suffered from being discriminated against, and that the tribunal should not be used to make a political point. The tribunal found that Stopps's claim was politically motivated, and filing such claims harms those who file legitimate claims of discrimination, including men who have been discriminated against and whose dignity has been demeaned.

That sound to be the case here too.

 

Don't know for the US and that state thought.

 

 

P.S. Speaking of legal complain, do people remember the lawsuit against the movie Drive, against it apparently misleading trailer and anti-semetist element, the original lawyer is still going at it, and never stopped over the year's, and he is now trying to sue everyone that played the movie (Apple, Netflix, etc...) How sad some many people were trigged by this. It did not effect them at all.  Alamo did a fun event for females. I am guessing these are the same people argue that business should be able to use religion as a from discrimination against customers.

I read that review and honestly did not even understand what it meant- sounded like the reviewer had a massive stick up thier butt.
